A successful writer for the stage, his poetry is distinguished by technical variety, a face-to-camera directness and the musicality of everyday speech.
I am happy to support his application for an Arts Council funded residency at Ripon Racecourse. The residency will make an important contribution to the local poetry scene, help to take poetry to wholly new audiences, enrich the area’s tourism offer and imaginatively locate the world of horse-racing in the history, people and culture of the North.
